I love the atmosphere, decor, and decedent style of food. It feels very exclusive. This is a perfeft place for a date, or a special occasion.
Love the decor and the cocktails. Still have to try the fondue but I'm sure it'll be great
Cozy and nice little place for some wine and cheese.
Love the fondue! The wine aint bad either.
Good punch. Relaxed for a Sunday night
Really cool little French bar with a great ambience.
Excellent fondue (Gruyere, Emmentaler, mushroom). Chocolate fondue with peanut butter good but not great. Cozy, intimate atmosphere.
Intimate fondue restaurant with delicious food and drinks. Half off bottle of wine on certain days too.
The Bourgeois Pig is a small and cozy spot with gigantic furniture, candles and lots of fondue/wine. The savory fondue was far superior to the sweet one. It comes with bread, grapes, sauteed vegetables and potatoes as well as sliced apples for dipping. Service can be spotty. Bring three people who aren't claustrophobic, don't mind red lighting and love cheese.
Great cocktails, tasty appetizers, cool vibe (dark room with vintage furniture). Great place to stop before visiting the Comedy Cellar.
Good atmosphere but everything else is subpar.
o given that I love cheese, I realized that one thing I had not done in the longest time was go to a fondue restaurant. Honestly, what's better than that? MELTED, GOOEY, YUMMY cheese, with bread, apples, and just honestly anything in the world because anything covered in melted cheese is going to be extremely neat. I guess the timing is a little difficult since it's almost time for #summerbod2016 but honestly maybe I should just focus on #summerbod2017 at this point. I found this place a few months ago, and finally had a chance to go a few weeks ago. The venue is very small and intimate. Usually i'm into that life, but it was a little too crowded. It was also extremely hot because of this - the group next to us actually left. We were close to doing that as well, but ended up waiting it out.
So, it is sad to say that the move to this new location did not help the restaurant. The food is still delicious, and the price is right, so if you are just looking for some simple fondue it still works. And the server was an older woman very attentive and polite (perhaps the owner). BUT I was very disappointed by the new place its REALLY REALLY small, there were only about 6 tables cramped in a "bedroom". Its okay to be small and intimate but that was really awkward. There is a bar in the middle but you dont really wanna sit there since its so small and you feel like all eyes are on you. There is a HUGE ice machine occupying space in one side and another big ventilation box on the other side.It is a shame, because it was not the place's fault lets put it like that. Decor is the same, the songs, the food.. But that tiny room was just weird. Be prepared when you go. I was expecting them to move somewhere better and not worse.
A hidden NYC gem - BEST place to go for Wine...& Fondue! What a combo! Be sure to catch up with friends while indulging in the creations. Monday and Tuesdays are best for 1/2 price bottles of wine!
